Where to go in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This post is to talk about our July 2016 trip to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Made a trip there, shopping and met friends. A nice trip.

Night of Kuala Lumpur, shoot from the roof top of hotel we stayed.

How to Go
They are couple of budget airlines fly from Singapore to this city. Among them: Air Asia, Scoot, Tiger Airway, Jetstar, Firefly, we selected Jetstar. Reason being is Jetstar and Tiger offered lowest fare, but Jetstar schedule is most suitable to us. Total cost us S$184 including 20 kgs baggage and return 30 kgs.

KLIA, Kuala Lumpur International Airport

How to Stay Connect
See my previous post about which Telco to choose for the prepaid card in Malaysia.
Basically I selected this Telco is because it offered 'Super Long Life' option which my phone line can last for a year without top up. Convenient for those often travel North to Malaysia.

How to Go Around
Those with friend or relative there, borrow a car is an option. Rent a car also not a bad idea. This is because the public transport there is not really convenient as Singapore so besides these 2 options, then will be Uber.
Heard about the taxi robbery cases there, dishonest taxi drivers, rude drivers, so the impression is not really good. Did some research and realized Uber is available there and quite good reviews too.
Uber, this company has mobile app that allow consumers with smartphone to submit trip request to Uber drivers with their own car. A new business model that utilize technology to match the supply and demand, sharing of ordinary people resources. Download the app, sign in, then now you are ready to go.
From the day we touched down at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) till go back, all our trips were by Uber. Very convenient and cost is the lowest compare to taxi or even the Airport Express - the non stop high speed train travel between airport and city centre. Only one thing to take note is due to recent cases about Uber drivers and passengers being beaten by taxi driver gang, Uber passengers may be requested to drop at those entries that without taxi stand. Or passenger may be requested to sit front seat to pretend being given a ride by friend.
Uber app: @Apple

Where to Stay
Oasia Suites Kuala Lumpur offered me opening promotion with pay 1st night, second night free. After checked the reviews in TripAdvisor, not bad, so I booked it. Modern, clean room, friendly staffs, a good choice. The first night cost me RM309. It means per night only RM155, a good deal.

Another night I selected Palace of the Golden Horses, a hotel looks like palace and decorated by all horse related. Like horse statue, paint, furniture, etc. It was famous in the 90s, hosted world's leaders, royal families, celebrities. I got to know this hotel via a MV below.

Not a bad idea with affordable price and stayed in this palace style hotel. I viewed it as a theme park for me to take many photos, haha.

For places to visit, we went to shopping district, Bukit Bintang area. It is like our Orchard Road, shopping malls everywhere. You can go to Sungai Wang to hunt for good bargain, Starhill for luxury stuffs, and many more. (e.g. Time Square, Pavilion, Lot 10, etc)
We spent 2 days in Pavilion as the mall is big and main attraction for wife is the Korean fashion brands that unable to find in Singapore. They are Spao, Who. A. U. and Mixxo.

It is a good idea to visit there as we pay lower compare to
visit those sky dining restaurants in Singapore.
 Nice food and nice views.
This will be covered in later post.
