丹戎槟榔购物


这一趟15年11月丹戎槟榔之旅,我们买了不少东西。我的同事也好奇问,有这样多东西买嘛?让我来分享一下吧。第一样最重要的是电话预付卡。你须要它来找出租车,预约你的水疗等等。我曾经在印尼工作过一阵,用过这间所以买回一样的。它是印尼的第一间电信公司,Telkomsel。预付卡叫Simpati, 只要Rp 20,000。 卡内已有点储值,通常都不够,找店家跟你加吧。到达后走出码头那条路,在 Jl. Merdeka / 独立路你就可找到店家卖预付卡。我已在下面放了地图。


印尼出名于各种各样的虾饼和糕点。所以在那里,千万不要错过它们。无论买来酒店内一解嘴馋或买回送人都是不二之选。不止虾饼,他们还有鱼饼啊,鱿鱼饼啊等等。他们甚至有一种蔬菜饼,新鲜的叶子浸了面糊就拿去油炸。我只在丹戎槟榔看到。




哪里买得到?看下面的地图吧。

1号地点:
这有家蛋糕店,名叫 Marriot (Furia 酒店旁)。它们的印尼千层糕又好吃又比新加坡便宜。

2号地点:
这一带的店家有出售各种虾饼和糕点。出了码头那条路在 Jl. Merdeka / 独立路会看到不少手推车卖虾饼,你会在那找到蔬菜饼。


友人托我带这药油回新给她。FreshCare是风油但有不同的香味供选择。它不像传统的风油,只是辣而已,它还有果香,熏衣草香等等呢。它的网站甚至指出,印尼总统佐科也用呢。据说这药油可用来缓解头痛,胃肠胀气,感冒,晕车等等。

您可在3号地点买到 FreshCare, 药剂店叫 Kimia Farma Apotek。
或在4号地点的小型百货公司找得到,它位于Bestari Mall / Bestari 购物中心内。

在这小型百货公司内,你也可以找到各种物品比如洗发水啊,洗脸霜啊等等。 特别在于大多数都有旅游装,就是那种很小号的瓶装。每次到印尼我们都会买回去。

Things to buy in Tanjung Pinang

The trip to Tanjung Pinang in Nov 2015 we brought back some stuffs. As my colleague asked me about things to buy in Tanjung Pinang, I think it will be good I share it over here too. Most important after arrival is the local pre paid card. This is a must for us as this will give us convenience in calling taxi, booking for Spa, etc. With my past working experience, I still prefer the first Telco in Indonesia calls Telkomsel. It has pre paid card call Simpati. Just Rp 20,000 you can get it with some pre installed credit. Check with the seller for topping up more credit. You can find this along the main road Jl. Merdeka. See bottom of this post for the map.



The locals really good in making various of crackers and kuih. (kuih - those bite-sized snack or dessert foods commonly found in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia) So when you are there, do not miss this. Whether eat it there or buy back as gifts for friends. For crackers, it can be made by fish / prawn / squid. They even have vegetable cracker which the fresh leafs dip into flour paste and fried. Only can find in Tanjung Pinang.

Location 1: There is a cake shop. The kuih lapis is good and cheaper than Singapore. (Indonesian layer cake)
Shop name is Marriot Cake Shop. 
Location 2: There are few shops sell crackers and kuih. Along the road of Jl. Merdeka, you can find pushcarts sell crackers too especially vegetable cracker.


A friend of mine asked me to bring her back these medicated oil. FreshCare medicated oil has various fragrances. It is not like traditional medicated oil just with spiciness. Its website even state that this product also being used by Indonesian President - Joko Widodo. Medicated oil can be used for relief of headaches, flatulence, colds, motion sickness and flu symptoms.

You can find it at Location 3: Kimia Farma Apotek / Kimia Farma Pharmacy. Or at Location 4: Mini Market at Bestari Mall.

In their Mini Market, you can find various groceries / body care products come with travel size. They are also items in our shopping list.

丹戎槟榔早餐2篇

这一篇还是说我们的丹戎槟榔早餐。第一天,我们尝试了道地华人的早餐,第2天,我们决定尝试印尼式。在我们的酒店同一条街(Laguna酒店) 我们看到蛮多印尼人光顾的有几间餐馆。我们决定选一间试一试。


据知我们可点隔壁摊的食物,和第一天的华人餐馆一样。来,来看看我们的典型印尼早餐吧。

(图1)这叫马来卤面,黄面配咖喱浓汁,有甜有辣。我品尝不到虾米成分在这汁里,跟新加坡的不一样。吃一口,它带有花生香。绝对跟獅城的不一样。


图2是Lontong,一种马来式食物。基本上是米糕淋上疏菜咖哩。在新加坡这里的疏菜是白菜和胡萝卜,还有豆腐。但在印尼,咖哩内是菠萝蜜,豆腐,长豆。配上Tempe(一种黄豆饼),江鱼仔和脆虾饼。


 一般上,Lontong摊也卖椰浆饭。米糕换了椰浆饭,配料大致上一样,虾饼啊,豆腐啊,黄豆饼啊。但鱼不再是江鱼仔,他们用小鱼,手指般长的小鱼。这香辣脆的小鱼可整条吃,鱼骨脆脆的。

我们还点了咖椰牛油烤面包,南洋咖啡和奶茶,跟新加坡的一样味道。

当地人喝得比较甜,所以,如果你想少甜,记得事先通知店家。在印尼文,少甜叫 kurang manis。点饮料时,你需要提及茶或咖啡要加牛奶,否则,他们会送上无奶的。


我们还发现酒店隔几家店有家古早面包店。该面包店开业自1932年,比我们倆老很多的面包店,哈。买个面包回酒店,夜了饿了还可充饥呢。面包嘛,蛮软的,合我口味。

大致上我们蛮享受这顿印尼早餐。不错,不错。




Tanjung Pinang Breakfast II

This post still talk about breakfast of our trip in Tanjung Pinang. Day 1 we tried the Chinese style breakfast, on day 2 we decided to try Indonesian style. We saw few eateries along the street of Jalan Bintan, the street where our hotel located - Hotel Laguna. As it packed with locals, so we decided to give it a try. 

Same as the restaurant we had on day 1, we could order foods from other stalls beside the restaurant we visited. Here the foods we had. Typical Indonesian breakfast.

(1st photo) Local calls it Mee Rebus, yellow noodle with sweet curry-like gravy. I could not taste the dried shrimp ingredient in the gravy as compare to those in Singapore. It came with peanut fragrance. These are the different against Singaporean Mee Rebus. 

The 2nd photo is Lontong. In Singapore, the rice cake served with coconut based spicy soup with cabbage and carrots. But in Indonesia, rice cake still as main but the content in the coconut based spicy soup are different. The soup came with young jackfruit, tofu, green long bean. Topped with tempe  (soybean cake), anchovies and prawn crackers. 


Usually the Lontong stall also serve Nasi Lemak - fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk. The topping almost the same as Lontong, they are crackers, tofu, tempe. But the fish is not anchovy, it is small fish fried with sambal chili paste. It is crispy and the whole fish is edible.

We also ordered kaya toast, Nanyang coffee and milk tea, taste like those in Singapore. 
Kaya toast: Toast with coconut jam and butter.
Nanyang coffee: Southeast Asian way of roasted coffee mix with condensed milk.
Milk tea: Tea with condensed milk. 
The locals like their beverage more sweeter compare to Singapore. So if you want to avoid that, give a request to the seller. In Indonesian, less sweet calls 'kurang manis'. When making order, you need to mention the tea or coffee wants milk. Otherwise, they will not add milk for you.


We discovered just few shops beside the hotel there is a bakery. This bakery started since 1932, a long history bakery. It is a good choice to buy some bread back to hotel just to satisfy your hunger late night if you want to avoid room service. We tried the bread, it was soft and nice. 

Generally we were enjoyed this day 2 Indonesian breakfast. Everything were nice. We loved it.

丹戎槟榔早餐

我们在11月初2015年去了一趟丹戎槟榔,一个印尼岛屿的小镇。我们住在Laguna酒店, 它位于市中心。一大早我们就往酒店的餐厅看有什么好吃。一般酒店的早餐没什么特别,与妻决定往小镇走走看看当地的早餐,吃当地人的早餐。

我在印尼工作过一段日子,认识当地朋友,经过推荐,我们去了一条街。一条在地华侨聚集吃早餐的街。它位于Jl. Temiang。下面地图标了酒店和这条街。在印尼文,Jl. 是Jalan的缩写, 是路或街的意思。至于Temiang嘛,不好意思,印尼文不大好,这我不懂。哈哈!



旅游的常规:跟着人群走,多人的餐厅意味着食物是好吃的。我们找了家蛮多人的小餐厅,点了喝的才知到我们可以点隔壁家的食物。这在新加坡找不到哦。国人叫这甘榜精神(社区合作的精神)。餐厅的老板甚至帮隔壁家的档口收钱,这很好因为食客不需去几个档口付钱,一次就付完。我们点了鱼丸面和酿豆腐。



鱼丸面与新加坡的略有不同。他们用当地做的番茄酱拌面。由于原料的不同,鱼丸和面条味道都不像新加坡的。面条吃得出是手工做的。鱼丸比新加坡的硬一点。尝得出鱼肉成分比面粉多。个人觉得味道不错,还有你不可能在新加坡尝到这味道。



酿豆腐嘛我吃得出那鱼丸和鱼丸面的一样,应该是这两档都跟同样的供应商拿货吧。粿条比新加坡的硬一点。通常新加坡炒粿条档就是用这种。新加坡酿豆腐档通常使用较软的粿条。两边的鱼丸面和酿豆腐都有差别。粿条方面我觉得应该是这里少人做吧所以如供应商做一种来卖给炒的和汤的,店家也得买。我还是较喜欢软式的粿条来煮汤。但整体来讲这碗酿豆腐还不错吃。

怎样也好,你不能在本国吃得到,是个异乡的味道。旅行嘛,就是到国外吃点不一样的。所以,看到卖像不错的就敢敢吃吧。

Tanjung Pinang Breakfast

We visited Tanjung Pinang in early November 2015. It located at one of the islands in Indonesia. We stayed at Hotel Laguna at the down town. Early morning we headed to the hotel's restaurant for breakfast. As it is like usual breakfast spread in those hotels, we decided to skip it and headed to town to explore the local breakfast, what the locals have for their breakfast. 

As I have worked in Indonesia for quite some time, through the recommendation of local friend, we headed to a breakfast spot of local Chinese communities. It is located at Jl. Temiang. See below map for the location. In Indonesian, Jl. is the short form of Jalan which is meant Road / Street. So in English it is called Temiang Road. Sorry my Indonesian is not so good, can't explain the meaning of Temiang, ha!  






Travel's rule of thumb: always follow to the crowd, the restaurant with more people means the food is good. We settled down at a restaurant and realised that we can order food from the other restaurant along the street. Well, this is usually cannot be seen in Singapore. The Kampong Spirit (cooperation in a community) applied to the local business. The owner of restaurant even help to collect the payment on behalf of other stalls, so customer does not need to go to multiple stalls for payment if he ordered from more than 1 stall. We ordered local style fish ball noodle and yong tau fu.


The fish ball noodle above slightly different with Singapore. They used local made ketchup to mix with noodle. As the source of ingredient also different, the taste and texture of noodle, fish ball are different. The noodle taste like hand made. The fish ball is more firm compare to Singapore. I could taste on the fish meat and flour ratio the fish meat is higher. Generally it taste good and you can't have such taste in Singapore.   


Yong tau fu is tofu that has been filled with fish paste, it comes with yellow noodle or thin/thick rice noodle as main. The fish ball and fish paste gave the same taste as those on fish ball noodle, I believed both stalls had the same supplier. The rice noodle taste a bit firm compare those in Singapore.  Singapore fried kway teow stall usually use such firm rice noodle. Singapore rice noodle with soup stall usually use softer type. I guess due to lower Chinese population there so supplier of rice noodle is scarce. Stall owners do not have much choice for the ingredient. Personally I'm still prefer softer rice noodle but generally noodle with tofu, soup still make up a good taste for me. Again, you can't find it in Singapore. Travel to oversea give us chance to try their local foods, a different experience that you can't find in your home country. So be brave to try whatever it looks good.




丹戎槟榔

请了一天假在拜一,加上屠妖节假期在拜二,我们有一个长周末。和妻前往獅城新加坡附近的海岛。民丹岛是印尼其中一个岛,它位于新加坡东南部,须搭船。这岛是国人周末出游的热点之一。

岛上旅游的热门旅游区基本上有两个,它们是岛上的北部名叫民丹岛度假村和东部名叫民丹Agro度假村。北部的规摩比较大也较多人到访。主要就是晒太阳啊,完海水啊,海边放空啊,等等。
对于我们俩,我们总是希望有不一样的体验,所以我们决定来个特别的就是探索民丹岛的首府 - 丹戎槟榔。它是一个小镇,有蛮多的印尼华侨居主。人们说这个镇的建筑和基础设施让你有如到新加坡的60年代。街头小贩随处可见,狭窄的街道,建筑可追溯到30年代到70年代所建造,对我们来讲是不错的选择。

从新加坡前往丹戎槟榔,你得去丹那美拉渡轮码头,这码头靠近樟宜机场。船家有两间,他们是Sindo渡轮和Majestic渡轮。比较稳的做法是与他们提前预订,因为大日子你可能没办法当天买票就可搭下一班船。

我们选择了Sindo,船票S $ 50 每人 (来回票)。回程那边你可以让酒店柜台帮你预订,花费是印尼盾(Rp)3万每人,包含酒店的跑腿费。你也必须支付码头进门费1万3千印尼盾每人。(截至10月2015年,印尼盾的汇率为S $ 1 = 9578印尼盾)
船程需要大约1小时40分钟就可达丹戎槟榔。

我们住在酒店Laguna,从码头步行就可到达。然而,酒店也提供接送服务,只需打电话或电邮提前跟他们安排。

这酒店是一个非常基本的酒店,不可要求太多。基本上是好在放便,步行就可在镇上溜達。如果你想要更好的酒店而又不介意乘坐出租车到市区,那你可以考虑远一点的Aston酒店及Bintan Nirwana酒店。还有这Laguna酒店因为它靠近清真寺,所以你会不时听到清真寺喇叭播出的念经声。当然,如果你是个很熟睡的人,那就没问题。

除了出租车,你也可以考虑搭这样的公共交通。它们像巴士,有固定路线。只要问一问酒店,他们会很乐意教你如何搭这小面包车。还有一点是,印尼和其他发展中国家一样,高失业率,所以出游要小心扒手,钱财要看管好。

搭地铁到勿洛站或丹那美拉站,转搭新捷运巴士35号到码头。
